Education is big business today. For many people, the process of education is taking so long, that they are not starting their careers until they are almost 30 years old. But what is the philosophy behind education today? The emphasis is on jobs. A worldly education will help a person to make a living, but will it help them to live? A secular education may develop skills, but will it develop character? Does God and the Bible have any place in a good education? A godless education will have ungodly results. Money can buy an education, but only morals and character will make an education profitable. When spiritual values and ethics are ignored or twisted; when the meaning of our existence is not considered, we are filling minds and emptying souls. Repeating the dogmas of an unstable society is training not educating. Let's consider Psalm 94 and ask ourselves if we are educated.
Outline of Psalm 94
Obstinate Man - Psalm 94:1-7
Proud, wicked men have made themselves ignorant of God and hurtful to mankind (Romans 1:18-32; Psalm 10; 14; Psalm 50:16-23). What does the vengeance of God mean to us? See Romans 12:17-21;
II Corinthians 5:9-11; II Thessalonians 1:3-12; II Peter 3:10-14.
Offer of God - Psalm 94:8-11
God is not ignorant of man. He is prepared to give him an education. See Psalm 19; Romans 1:18-20; 2:1-16; 3:9-20 (note: creation, conscience and the law).
Opening Hearts - Psalm 94:12-15
There is a blessed people who come to love and desire the knowledge of God. They are chosen (Psalm 65:4). Their sins are covered (Psalm 32:1-2). They are chastened / corrected when they err (Psalm 94:12). See also John 1:1-13; 6:35-48, 63; 10:1-30; 15:1-17; 17:1-26; Hebrews 12:5-11.
Outcome of Two Destinies - Psalm 94:16-23
God comforts and protects those who receive Him. God cuts off those who reject Him. He gives them not only what they deserve, but what they want (vs. 23). See Psalm 1,; Jeremiah 17:5-10; Proverbs 5:21-23; 14:14; Romans 1:28; 2:2-12; II Peter 2:9; Revelation 20:11 - 21:8.

Consider Christ: Christ died for us, so that we could have a good education. How are we responding? See John 17:1-3; I John 5:19-21 cp. John 8:30-32; Colossians 2:1-8; 3:16. |
