Verse 2 of this Psalm tells us two important things about God: 1) God hears prayer; 2) Everyone is going to come to Him. "All flesh" refers, here, to all of humanity. We all are physical, natural beings who came from God, our Creator, and will end up standing before God, our Judge (Romans 11:36). The question is, Will we come to Him in this life, before we stand before Him after death? The first five verses of this psalm will be our main consideration. They tell us that it is a great privilege and responsibility to worship God. The rest of the psalm honors God for His power and His care over all of His creation, particularly humanity. Let's now consider how "all flesh" shall come to God.

All flesh comes to God in prayer - Psalm 65:2
|
| We come to God when our need is felt. Note Psalm 107 |
| The afflicted | Psalm 107:10-15 |
| Fools | Psalm 107:17-21 |
| Sea-travelers | Psalm 107:23-31 |
| The Redeemed | Psalm 107:1-8, 40-43 |
| (Righteous & Wise) | |
| We come to God when grace is known (i.e. when grace is observed & understood - Psalm 107:43) |
| We praise Him | Psalm 65:1. |
| We seek His forgiveness | Psalm 65:3. |
| We approach Him; seeking continual fellowship with Him and His people; finding satisfaction & contentment | Psalm 65:4. |
| All people need to seek Him early and regularly (Psalm 4:4; 27:8; 62:8; 63:1-8; 77:6; Ecclesiastes 12:1; Isaiah 55:6; Luke 18:1-8; Romans 10:9-13; I Peter 5:6-7). |
All flesh comes to God in Death - Ecclesiastes 3:17-21
|
| Consider Proverbs 22:2; Ecclesiastes 9:11-12; Matthew 13:47-50. Death is the most certain thing about life. Psalm 65:5 mentions "terrible things in righteousness." People often question God's goodness when they see and experience pain, suffering and death. Yet, God has graciously explained why we experience these things. Sin has ruined all of the good things that God originally created. God also has prepared a remedy for sin that will overcome death (Romans 1:16-32; 3:9-26; 5:1-21). What is more terrible than death? The answer is Judgment! See Hebrews 9:27; Daniel 12:2-3; Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 2:1-11; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:6-8 (When people die in their sins, They are forever separated from God. It is called "the second death" cp. Revelation 2:11; 20:6). |
Therefore, we should believe on Christ now (John 5:24; 8:24; II Corinthians 6:2); rest in His promises (II Thessalonians 1:7-10); always abound in His work (I Corinthians 15:51-58); and always find ways to persuade others to turn to Christ in repentance and faith (II Corinthians 5:8-11; Romans 10:9-17; Acts 17:30). |
